 HEADSHOTS IN LONDON

Capturing what makes you unique

Ciao! My name is Mattia. I'm a headshot and portrait photographer in London, with a passion for capturing the personality of actors and comedians with authentic portraits. Why? Because I'm a performer too! I understand the challenges and pressures that performers have, and nothing satisfies me more than helping people further their acting careers! This is the reason I'm not like other corporate headshot photographers in London. I believe in making my clients feel as comfortable as possible (with the additional help of hot drinks and cookies), as this yields the best results. And I also believe that you should only pay for the pictures you actually want - no upfront costs, no obligations. Looking forward to meeting you!

WHY CHOOSE ME AS YOUR HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHER?

I'm a London photographer with a passion for the art of performing.

RELAXED & FRIENDLY

As an actor myself, I understand that being at ease is key to capturing headshots that truly reflect your personality. My main priority is that you feel as comfortable as possible, whether we're outside or in the studio.

NO LIMITS

If you have multiple outfits or lots of ideas for the shoot - great! If it takes longer than we anticipated - no worries! Let's make sure we get the headshots you wanted.

NO OBLIGATIONS

I don't charge upfront costs. In fact, the entire session is free. Purchase the only the headshots that you want - no obligations. If you're happy, I'm happy.

"Mattia is exceptional to work with. He eases you into his company so when you begin to work, you don't feel hesitant to be yourself in front of the lens. Incredible photos in the simplest of methods which just proves his professionalism and passion. I feel like I've gained a friend as well as a collection of headshots, which I'm eager to share with casting directors. HIGHLY recommend Mattia Sedda! Thank you again!"

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Simply get in touch with some details about what you're looking for and we can arrange a date for you to come to my photography studio in Islington, London or to an outdoor location, likely in South West London or Camden, if it's easier to get there and the weather allows. You don't pay any upfront costs and the session itself is free of charge.

During the session I think it's important that we get to know each other, as from my experience a relaxed environment yields the best results. We'll have a tea or coffee and take headshots until we're satisfied with the output. You'll have plenty of time to change outfits - there's no rush!

After the session I'll upload the initial photographs to my website and share with you a link and password to access them. Within three working days, let me know which headshots you'd like and send payment. It's £35 per edited picture, and I offer a discount if you'd like to return for another shoot. I'll then edit your chosen headshots and send you the final photos within three working days.

And the rest is up to you! I'm not like other London headshot photographers - as an actor myself I'd love to know how you get on. Please share your successes with me!

FAQ

Nobody likes surprises!

HOW MUCH DOES THE SESSION COST?

The session itself is free of charge. The only price you will be charged for is for the headshots that you want.

After you've seen the preview of the shots, you have three working days to say how many pictures you want and conclude the payment (if you need longer, contact me). However, you have unlimited time to choose which pictures you'd like and you can always add pictures to your first order, in case you realise you want more of them.

How many headshots and how much you're going to spend is entirely down to you. The cost also depends on whether you come to my studio, we shoot outdoors or if you're a returning customer. In studio, I charge £45 per chosen picture, whilst outdoor is £40.

WHERE IN LONDON ARE YOU BASED?

I do all my headshot photography in London. More specifically, my studio is in Angel, north London, easily accessible via the Northern line, Overground or bus. If you opt for an outdoor shoot, I have a few great spots in North London that I hope to keep super secret from other London actor photographers!

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STUDIO AND OUTDOOR PICTURES?

Although I tend to prefer the natural light, I'm a London headshot photographer... London is not famous for its reliable weather! Taking pictures in the studio means that we can manage the light and we have no wind or traffic to bother us. Also, you can comfortably change your outfits in a private space, with time to retouch your make-up, feel warm and cozy and have a nice cup of tea/coffee always handy. However, if you'd like to shoot your headshots in out and about in London, let me know!

HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION BE?

Usually between two and three hours - I don't set a hard limit (unlike some other London headshot photographers). I like to ensure we have plenty of time to get the best possible headshots. We finish when we're happy with what we have!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

You're always welcome to consult me privately before a session and send me pictures of the clothes you'd like to bring. Generally speaking though, I'd avoid any bright white clothes and especially clothes with patterns that are very distracting. The simpler, the better! Remember these are pictures of you, not of your pretty clothes.

A plain t-shirt could do the job better than a fancy dress for what we're looking for. I'd go for two to three outfits that are neutral and others that are generic casting types that you could be auditioning for (police officer, office worker, urban, etc.)

Regarding make-up, I suggest as little, if any at all. Make-up that looks great for a Friday night wouldn't look the same behind the lens (especially foundation!). If you want to use foundation, make sure you use a "photography" one: the difference is that reflects light instead of absorbing it.

Having said this, do anything that makes you feel comfortable in front of the lens.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE SESSION?

Whenever possible, I like to have a cup of coffee with you before shooting so I can get to know you and understand what you'd like from the session. Being photographed for hours can be exhausting and it's ideal that we're both relaxed and at ease with each other. I believe that relaxation allows creativity and comfort, which is key for a great session.

I'm not time-obsessed - we stop shooting until we're both satisfied with the work done! Usually it takes a couple of hours, it really depends on how much we chat and how many outfits you want to use.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SESSION?

I will upload the photographers here on my website. Don't worry, they will be password protected so only you can see them! I'll upload medium quality previews of the shots.

Once you've reviewed your headshots, let me know within three working days which photographers you'd like and then send the payment.

After that, I'll edit your chosen headshots and get the final high quality photographs sent over to you within three working days.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN TERMS OF COVID SAFETY?

I am triple-vaccinated (Pfizer) and I test regularly (twice a week). If you feel more comfortable with the windows kept open and you'd like me to wear a mask, I'm more than happy to do so. I also kindly ask for clients to test before the session.

CAN I LEAVE A REVIEW?

I'd love to get your feedback! Please leave a review on my Google business listing and please get in touch if you have any suggestions on what I can do better.

YOU HAVEN'T ANSWERED MY QUESTION - WHAT SHOULD I DO!?
